an absence charged to sick leave accruals during a work- week shall be
treated as follows:
(a) when mandatory overtime is worked, a scheduled absence charged to
sick leave accruals is time worked;
(b) when mandatory overtime is worked, an unscheduled absence
charged to sick leave accruals is time worked;
(c) when voluntary overtime is worked, a scheduled absence charged to
sick leave accruals is time worked;
(d) when voluntary overtime is worked, an unscheduled absence charged
to sick leave accruals is not time worked with respect to all hours of
voluntary overtime worked up to the amount of absence charged to sick
leave accruals in that workweek.
Article 28
Civil Service Examinations
§28.1 Alternate Examination Dates
In the event an employee in this unit is unable to participate in an
examination because of the death, within seven days immediately
preceding the scheduled date of an examination, of any relative or relative-
in-law, or any person with whom the employee has been making his or her
home, such employee shall be given an opportunity to take such
examination at a later date, but in no event shall such examination be
rescheduled sooner than seven days following the date of death. The
Department of Civil Service shall prescribe appropriate procedures for
reporting the death and applying for the examination. Appropriate
arrangements shall be made in circumstances where there is a protracted
period between the death and the burial.
§28.2 Time Off Before Civil Service Written Tests
The State shall make reasonable effort to ensure that an employee who
must take a Civil Service written test is not required to work during the
eight hour period immediately prior to the time at which the employee is
scheduled to report for such test.
